"How many times do I have to ask you not to call me woman"

Sometimes hanging out with fellow artists- you come to share works from the past. And for a moment you get to see a work from years ago through a new lens.

This one was created through combining my figure drawings with some frustrated lines overplayed repeating the title of the work.

New works.

I've been working on a couple new paintings.
They are inspired by a drawing, so are exploring the same theme and composition.

These are works in progress.

To give an idea of where the paintings have developed from, here are a series of artworks I've created within the last ten years.

New work in progress

It's been a while, but I have begun working on a new painting based on a drawing I stumbled upon from a couple of years ago.

YSI Core Team Retreat March 2016

YSI Collaborative is all about amplifying and accelerating the conditions for youth-led organizing in Ontario.
It was great to spend the weekend with inspiring people from around the province who shared their insight and vision into our next steps as a collaborative.
It's exciting to imagine we'll be hiring someone in Thunder Bay to coordinate building a nest up here in the NW! I cannot wait to meet this person and am honoured to be a part of the working team!
